Before the Public-Private Partnership agreement, hemodialysis service was available at the Elbasan Regional Hospital, but with limited capacity, where patients performed treatments in four shifts until midnight. The hemodialysis unit was placed after the rehabilitation of an abandoned floor of the paediatric building at the Elbasan Regional Hospital. The first service was given on March 27, 2017. Currently, 136 patients from Elbasan, Librazhd, Cërrik, Gramsh, Peqin, Prrenjas receive this vital service, where a team of 30 medical and assistants make this happen every day.
